Submit site to Google

How do I submit my site to Google?

There are different ways to submit a url to Google, but the way that is meant when people are talking about 'submit website to Google' or actually 'the submission of a url to Google' is being done at a page that is provide by Google.

The Google page to submit your site can be easily found by just searching for something like 'submit site to Google' (you probably arrived on this page by just searching), but of course you can also just click on the link to that page: Google page to submit site.

Another way to submit a site to Google is to make sure there is a link to your site 'somewhere' on the Internet. Of course Google must know about the site linking to your page or site. Google is very clever and uses basically all the links it finds 'somewhere' to index the Internet. If it finds a new link, whether to an existing domain or not, it will follow the link and look what is on the page the link is pointing to.

A third way to submit your site to Google is to report it to the Open Directory Project. Among other things Google uses this site as a basis for its own database. It could even be that by submitting your site to the Open Directory Project your site is ranked higher than by submitting in any other way, but nobody knows how Google ranks sites exactly, of course except Google itself, although we think even Google staff might not be able to predict how sites would exactly rank in search results.

So how do I increase my ranking on Google?

If you arrived on this page, you are probably not really interested in reporting your site to Google, but probably only interested in getting visitors or customers to your site.

And if your website is a company website, the purpose of your site is probably not only to be an online company brochure, but also a way to generate more sales through advertising your company on the Internet.

And of course that is also exactly the reason why we created this page: create interest with potential new customers, for example customers who want to increase their sales through the Internet. About this page

This page was put on The Internet on December 20, 2011 with only one link from a site we are using for our SEO research. Shortly after this page was indexed by Google, which confirms that Google indexes 'any' link to 'any' page as at that moment there was no link within this site to this page, so it could not be reached from within this site.

If you are interested you can read more about our actions related to our 'submit site to Google' research in the page SEO research diary which you can also find in the submenu.
